Syriac Translator Help Page
- Toolbar: The toolbar at the top shows the page title and menu. The title changes based on the selected source and destination languages. The menu icon opens the app menu, and the website icon directs you to the Syriac.me website. On the WebApp, it will open a new browser tab; on the native Android or iOS app, it will open a browser.
- Source Language: The language of the text you want to translate. This must be one of the 18 supported languages or one of the 4 core languages.
- Swap Button: Swap the source and destination languages.
- Destination Language: The language into which the text will be translated. This must be one of the 4 core languages or one of the 18 supported languages in opposite coupling with the source language.
- Text Area: Enter the text to be translated. You can type directly into the text area, use the microphone to speak the text, use the camera to capture text from images, upload text from a document, or paste text from the clipboard.
- Speech Button: Record voice input and convert it to text using AI.
- Camera Button: Capture or upload an image and convert it to text using AI.
- Upload Button: Upload a document to extract text.
- Copy Button: Copy the text to the clipboard. Available on supported devices when text is present.
- Paste Button: Paste text from the clipboard. Available when text is in the clipboard.
- Clear Button: Clear the text area. Available when text is present.
- Comments Button: Toggle adding comments to translation. This adds descriptions to the output.
- Add Syriac Transliteration Button: Toggle Syriac transliteration to add pronunciation in Syriac.
- Add Arabic Transliteration Button: Toggle Arabic transliteration to add pronunciation in Arabic.
- Add Kurdish Transliteration Button: Toggle Kurdish transliteration to add pronunciation in Kurdish.
- Add English Transliteration Button: Toggle English transliteration to add pronunciation in English.
- Action Button: Start the translation process by using the translate button at the bottom of the input card or the floating shortcut button at the top. It will be disabled if required fields are not filled out.
- Output: The translated text with extra descriptions, if the comments option is enabled.
- Play Button: Only available when the transliteration option is enabled for either English or Arabic. Clicking this button sends the output to AI to be read aloud. Click again to start or stop playing. It will automatically play when enabled.
- Thumb-Up Button: Sends positive feedback about the translation to the AI engine for training purposes. It can be clicked and cleared multiple times to send more positive feedback.
- Thumb-Down Button: Sends negative feedback about the translation to the AI engine for training purposes and opens the suggestions card. It can be clicked and cleared multiple times to send more negative feedback.
- Copy Button: Copies the translated text to the clipboard.
- Reviewer Code (Optional): Designated reviewers can enter their assigned code here to give their review more weight in the training module.
- Suggestion Text: Provide a better translation than what was generated by the app.
- Upload Button: Upload the suggestion from a document.
- Paste Button: Paste the suggestion from the clipboard.

- Destination Language: The language into which the JSON file will be translated. This must be one of the 4 core languages.
- Text Area: Enter the i18n JSON text to be translated. You can type directly into the text area, upload a JSON file, or paste text from the clipboard.
- Upload Button: Upload a document to extract text.
- Paste Button: Paste text from the clipboard. Available when text is in the clipboard.
- Clear Button: Clear the text area. Available when text is present.

- Add English Transliteration: Adds pronunciation of the translated text in the English alphabet.

- Show Privacy Selector: Adds a button to the translate page to allow selection of the privacy setting for the current translation.
- Public: Choose the public privacy option. Your translations will not be made public, but the text you input and the AI-generated responses may be used to improve the AI model. These inputs are subject to the AI model's privacy protocols. For more details, refer to the ChatGPT privacy settings.
- Private: Choose the private privacy option. This setting ensures that none of your input or output texts will be used for AI training. However, logs of these translations will still be recorded on the server for troubleshooting purposes.
- Secret: Choose the secret privacy option. This setting ensures that no information about your translations will be retained for training or logging purposes.
